The Tunnels Road Race

Registration will open at 8:15am at the Start/Finish location of our usual Table Mountain Road Race - on Table Mountain Boulevard at the Table Mountain Overcrossing(over Hwy. 70) - see map. Parking available somewhat at this location.....OR, you can park at Spring Valley School on Pentz Road and ride on over. Look for me and the R.A.C.E.beast(a tan Ford Excursion SUV) and the orange cones.....I should be there by 7:45am to set up.

This race is a point-to-point race which travels about 30 miles up Hwy. 70, and includes about 3,000 feet of total climbing. The race will start on Table Mountain Boulevard, and go up Hwy. 70(past Pentz Road, past Cherokee Road, past Lunt Road....and up and up). The finish location is at the famous "Tunnels" on Hwy. 70. There are a total of 3 tunnels - the finish location being at the end of the 3rd tunnel. I will have water and some food at the finish, and will be driving some SAG support for a portion of the ride. HOWEVER, you should come FULLY prepared for anything - have food, water, pump, phone, cartridges, extra tube, patch kit and multi-tool with you, just in case. I will be sweeping the course at the end of the race, so can pick you up if you run into a situation. My cell number is 530-520-3832.

The Category "A" race will start at 9:00am, with the Category "B" & "C" races starting at 9:02am. Masters 50+, Women's Category and Juniors Category will start with the "B" & "C" groups, but counted separately in the results. Just climb at your own pace, take your time, pace yourself, and have fun with it - that's why we're out there!! This is an epic and beautiful ride, so come on out!!
