****DUE TO THE TREMENDOUS SMOKE COVERING BUTTE COUNTY FROM THE CHIPS FIRE NEAR BELDEN, CALIFORNIA AND THE READING FIRE NEAR MT. LASSEN, ALL R.A.C.E. EVENTS HAVE BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL THE SMOKE CLEARS. SORRY. :( ****

ONE TIME UP HONEY RUN ROAD!

This is a shorter version of the "Honey Run Road Race" that we held earlier this year - instead of twice up the infamous Honey Run Road, we're just going up once.

Registration will open at 8:15am on the Steve Harrison Memorial Bike Path - where it comes out at The Skyway. Look for me and the R.A.C.E.beast - a tan Ford Excursion with orange cones on it, and the registration table next to it. (PLEASE NOTE - There is not much parking here.)

All Categories will start together at 9:00am, and will travel the 10 miles from the starting location to the top of Honey Run Road. The race climbs approximately 1,500 feet.

Categories Offered:

Category "A" = Advanced & Intermediate Riders

Category "B" = Intermediate & Novice Riders

Category "C" = Novice & Newer Riders

Women's Category

Masters 50+ Category

Juniors Category(Under 16 years of age)

This is a GREAT event to get your feet wet with a R.A.C.E. Event - just go your own pace, and do what you can out there. I will be at the Start & Finish, and will provide ice water and bananas for the riders. Points will count towards the 2012 Butte Road R.A.C.E. Series & The 2012 Summer Summit Series - and is a great warm-up for the upcoming 18-event 2012 Chico Hill Climb Time Trial Series starting in September.
